have recent bills for what I owe?? (Stupid, but trying to fix young mistakes). Also how expensive, if I have about $4000 owed? I am a student so I do not make much monthly but I am trying to fix mistakes made in the past.

  1. I’d say focus on paying off your debts, and the credit will follow. You can worry about your credit after the debts are paid off.

What you need to do is set a schedule so that you can reduce your debt. You need to make at least minimum payments on all loans, and exceed (hopefully far exceed) minimum payments on your highest rate credit card. After budgeting all of this out of your monthly income, you must live on what is left, however little that is. If you can’t figure out the numbers on your own, ask someone older who’s good with money - maybe your parents or an aunt or uncle - to help you figure it out.

  2. Call a non profitable credit counselor. They might be able to help negotiate with the credit card companies. Or you might fill out a fafsa and pull out a subsidized student loan, where you are not responsible to pay back until 6 months after you drop below 6 units.
