Credit cards are a fashion now. Most people have a number of them and soon lose track of what they bought with which card. There are few who purchase these cards to just keep the credit ready in case of an emergency. However, this is a relatively small number in contrast to those who like to do shopping on credit.
Among the various faults one can make with debt and credit is purchasing things on a credit card when you can afford to pay for it with money. Though these amounts may be small individually, they add up to a good sum, which is thus likely to go out of your next month’s salary. And if you think you cannot pay it the next month, and then you have just landed in a crisis because you will then have to compensate interest on the bill, which you could have avoided by just paying cash.
Another blunder that people could easily make is pay debt with debt. Use one credit card to pay the first credit card bill. There’s nothing more awful to land you in trouble. Your interest and transaction fees will again ride up more than the amount you should actually pay. Thus, you not only end up paying high but you also build up more debt.
It should be realized that credit cards are an emergency means of payment. Going for it whenever you go online or whenever you buy doesn’t assist you save money. make an effort to your debit cards more. Also, realize the cash-back offers on your debit cards so that you get some prize for its use.
